My Angel Foundation is excited about the 1st Annual C.A.R.E. EAST 5K & 10K Run and Walk for Organ, Eye and Tissue Donor Awareness in North Liberty on Saturday, August 28th. My Angel Foundation has hosted the original C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K Run and Walk in Waukee for the past three years. The addition of the C.A.R.E. EAST 5K & 10K in North Liberty will be a convenient event for families and individuals in Eastern Iowa who have been impacted by organ, eye or tissue donation! Bring the family and friends for a morning of fun to support organ, eye and tissue donation awareness.

On Saturday, August 28, 2010, join hundreds of individuals in one of the most inspiring run and walks in Iowa to spread awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation by commemorating the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrating the lives of organ, eye and tissue recipients, and recognizing the lives of those waiting for a lifesaving transplant!

Whether you run, walk, wheel, volunteer, cheer or make a charitable donation, it's a great way to support this life-changing cause.

C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Compassion for Awareness, Remembrance, and Education.

When registering online you can create a personal fundraising web page. You have the option of fundraising individually or starting or joining a team. You may personalize your fundraising webpage with your own photo, message, and fundraising goal.

My Angel Foundation is committed to raising funds to create awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation! Help us out. Mile by mile, step by step, you'll be supporting organ, eye and tissue donation awareness, while meeting new friends and experiencing something you'll never forget.

All participants are encouraged to collect pledges for My Angel Foundation. Raising pledges is optional and not required to participate.

My Angel Foundation would like to call your attention to a project we will be doing again this year. The foundation invites all walkers/runners to participate in a GIFT OF LIFE SCRAPBOOK. This scrapbook will contain the stories behind why you are participating in the C.A.R.E. 5k & 10k Run and Walk and why you support organ, eye and tissue donation. Who you are walking/running for?

We invite every individual and/or team to make either an 8.5x11 or 12x12 scrapbook page. This is a small step to make a big difference! It can be very simple with a picture and story of why you are walking/running or more complex if you are an experienced scrapbooker.
