Mark Yes is a statewide campaign to educate the general public about the facts of organ, tissue, and eye donation and how to become officially registered in the Iowa Donor Registry.
The "YES" on a person's Iowa driver's license or identification card is all it takes to give legal consent for organ, tissue and eye donation upon death, as of July 1, 2007. Doing so automatically enters you into the Iowa Donor Registry. You can change or cancel your registration at any time by contacting the Iowa Donor Registry.
When you MARK YES it gives consent for transplantation only. If you would like to add research to your consent, please modify your Iowa Donor Registry entry at iowadonorregistry.org.
The number of people waiting for a transplant is staggering. They are every age, every race and every socio-economic level. They are people like you. Some wait for a kidney, others for a liver, pancreas, heart or lungs. They range in age from less than one year old to more than 65. In Iowa, most will wait more than a year for the transplant they need. Too many will die waiting.
